21 ways to pack the house

warhol-light-bulbsRunning out of marketing ideas to get qualified bodies at your open house?

I ran across Brandon Cornett‘s 21 Ways to Pack the House over a year ago, but the ideas are just as relevant now as then — perhaps more so.

Some of them seem rather obvious; you have undoubtedly used some of them already.  Others are new marketing ideas, to be sure.

I liked the idea of finding a popular blogger in the area and enlisting her or him to blog about the open house.

Another idea is to hire a clown to entertain the kids while the parents are checking out the home.  You might trade clown services for advertising and promotion before and during the event in lieu of payment, or get a theatre student from the local college to be a clown for free as experience.

Depending on the story angle you are able to come up with, Brandon’s idea of informing the media is also a good one.

The real value in Brandon’s list is similar to what a writer might do when experiencing writer’s block to release creativity.  Brandon has initiated a brainstorming, of sorts, to get your creative juices flowing, to help you think out the proverbial box.

Whatever methods you decide to use, always keep in mind your target market and ideal client.

Are you targeting first-time buyers?  Couples looking for investment property?  Are you marketing luxury homes?

The answers to these types of questions will help you determine what marketing method or methods will be most (magnetically, of course!) attractive to your ideal client.

Take a quick look at Brandon’s list and let me know what you think.
