If you fail at your goals or resolutions, you can always recommit

So, the first half of the first month of the year is half over and you’ve already slipped up on your New Year’s Resolutions commitments.

Feeling discouraged?  Frustrated?  Disappointed in yourself?

These are all natural emotions you may feel as a result of something you may perceive as a defeat or failure.

But rather than give up entirely or unwisely self-identify as a loser or a failure, remember what I learned some years ago from Dr. Dov Baron of Baron Mastery Institute:

“You can always recommit.”

Think of that:  “You can always recommit!”

Get back on the saddle and continue onward in the direction of your dreams.

Isn’t that the purpose of goals and resolutions anyway?

Just the other day, I was participating in a webinar called “Out With the Old — In With the New Year,” hosted by Dr. George Huang of Freedompreneur.com.

He illustrated a powerful and simple (LOVE things that are simple!) process for completing 2009 energetically so that we now have a blank emotional slate to create anew in 2010.

There were many key things of tremendous value that came out of the webinar workshop, but one particularly poignant concept that George offered in relation to goals was that it’s not so important whether you reach the target or not.

“The purpose of targets (goals and resolutions) is to get you moving in the direction of fulfillment.”

If and/or when you fall off the proverbial wagon, it is also a time to reflect on whether the goal or resolution is really your own goal.

You may be feeling discouraged or frustrated or disappointed at “failing” at something you were doing for someone else or didn’t really want in the first place!

If this is the case, rejoice that you’ve already failed rather than finding yourself at the end of the year having forced yourself to realize a dream that is not your own.

How fulfilling is that?

Imagine with powerful emotion what is is that will bring you real joy, set THAT goal, and then when challenges come up you will either magically overcome them in the moment, or happily recommit if you don’t.
