Is your life controlling you, or are you controlling your life?

Are you in control of your life?  Or, does life control you?

Do you ever stop to ask yourself that question?  It really is a powerful one.

It’s easy to blame our circumstances, our manager, our spouse, our birth order, the alignment of the stars, God’s Will, the economy, The President, and whomever else we believe is responsible.

A wonderful mentor of mine to whom I really look up is Joe Nunziata, the author of Spiritual Selling (among other programs).  He said that most of us like to play the victim in our lives rather than in a true sense take responsibility for it.

How about you?  Do you consistently see yourself as a victim or a victor of your circumstances?

I’m reminded of a comment that Dov Baron made that really drove the point home.  He said (filtered by me, of course):

“Imagine you had this dream.  In this dream, you were an ant in an anthill and above you was this kid f**kin’ with it.”

“Can you imagine what that would be like?”

“Then, in your dream, that image begins to fall away in your imagination, and you realize that you really aren’t the ant at all; you are the kid.”

“Is life manipulating you, or are you manipulating life?”
